Mountaineers In The Pros: August 4

A great week for the Mountaineers as Grant Buckner earned a promotion to Double-A. Also, Jedd Gyorko is swinging a hot bat for the San Diego Padres after coming off the disabled list last week.

	Tri-City ValleyCats (SS) Houston Astros CF - 5-9 - 180 Silver Spring, Md.	Boyd reached base in all five games last week, including one multi-hit game. He has missed his last two games. In the New York-Penn League rankings, Boyd is No. 4 in batting average, No. 5 in on-base percentage and No. 8 in stolen bases.

In the Northwest League rankings, McBroom is No. 2 in doubles, No. 3 in RBI, No. 3 in slugging percentage, No. 4 in home runs and No. 6 in batting average.

	Winston-Salem Dash (A+) Chicago White Sox 1B/OF - 6-2 - 225 Elkview, W.Va.	Buckner received a call-up to Double-A Birmingham in the Chicago White Sox organization. He went 2-for-16 in his first four games with two runs, one double, one RBI and one walk.
