Vance Named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore left-hander pitcher Ross Vance has been named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for his performance last week in wins against Maryland and Kansas State.
Vance went 2-0 in two starts, allowing two runs on eight hits in 13.0 innings. He struck out 13 and walked one, finishing the week with a 1.38 ERA.
Against Maryland, Vance gave up one run on three hits with six strikeouts and one walk in 6.0 innings. He turned around and made the start against Kansas State on Sunday, giving up one run on five hits with seven strikeouts and no walks in 7.0 innings.
