MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University baseball team faces No. 18 Oklahoma State this weekend in the inaugural Big 12 series at Hawley Field.

 

Game one begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, game two begins at 4 p.m. on Saturday and the first pitch for game three is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday.

 

Tickets cost $7 for reserved seating, $5 for general admission, $3 for seniors and youths 18 and under and WVU students are admitted free with a valid student ID.

 

Friday has been designated as the first of three Coca-Cola Family Days. Fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs, four Cokes and one popcorn for $25 at WVUGAME.com or 1-800-WVU GAME. Family Day packages must be ordered in advance and are not available for purchase on game day.

 

Fans who attend West Virginia football’s Spring Game on Saturday, will be able to use the Spring Game ticket stub for free general admission to watch the Mountaineer baseball team on Saturday.

 

Kids Day will be on Sunday, as all kids in attendance will be able to run the bases and get player autographs following the game.

 

The games will be video streamed on WVUsports.com, while the radio broadcast will be on select affiliates of the Mountaineer Sports Network from IMG with Jeff Culhane and Ernie Galusky on the call. Click here for a list of affiliates.

 

The Mountaineers (16-12, 2-3 Big 12) have lost four-straight games, most recently dropping an 8-4 decision at Penn State on Tuesday. The Cowboys (23-10, 5-4 Big 12) have won six of their last seven games and defeated Arkansas-Little Rock, 7-6, at home on Tuesday. WVU sits in seventh place in the Big 12 standings, while Oklahoma State is in a tie for third place.

 

Coach Randy Mazey will send left-hander Harrison Musgrave (3-1, 1.96 ERA) to the mound Friday, right-hander Sean Carley (5-1, 2.92 ERA) on Saturday and left-hander John Means (4-1, 1.72 ERA) on Sunday.

 

Musgrave has been in line for the win the last three weekends, but has taken no-decisions. Last Friday at TCU, Musgrave allowed one run on seven hits in seven innings, striking out five and issuing two walks.

 

Offensively, center fielder Bobby Boyd paces the team with a .353 batting average, five doubles, one triple, 11 RBIs and a team-leading 14 stolen bases. Second baseman Billy Fleming is hitting .345 with two doubles and 10 RBIs, while first baseman Ryan McBroom is hitting .343 and leading the team with six homers and 33 RBIs.

 

The Mountaineers are No. 6 in the Big 12 in team ERA (3.57), while the Oklahoma State staff is ranked No. 5 in the league (3.38). WVU ranks No. 6 in team batting average (.274) and Oklahoma State is ranked at No. 8 (.261).

 

Oklahoma State coach Josh Holliday will counter with right-hander Jon Perrin (3-2, 2.84 ERA). The Cowboys’ game two and game three starters are undecided.

 

Catcher Gage Green is leading the team with a .327 batting average, adding eight doubles, one triple, one home run, 14 RBIs and 13 stolen bases. Right fielder Zach Fish, shortstop Donnie Walton and first baseman Tanner Krietemeier lead the team with 21 RBIs. Krietemeier has a team-leading six home runs, and Fish has five homers.

 

Oklahoma State leads the all-time series, 5-2, with each team winning two games last season, including a 6-5 WVU win at the Big 12 Tournament.
