WVU Moves Up to No. 23 in AP Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s basketball team climbed one spot to No. 23 in the Associated Press poll released today.
WVU completed a perfect week, capturing victories at Fairleigh Dickinson (80-52) and against Coppin State (83-43). The Mountaineers have won four straight games and are 6-1 on the season.
West Virginia garnered 122 votes for No. 23 and were 72 tallies behind No. 22 Mississippi State. There were three other Big 12 programs represented in the Top 25: No. 3 Texas, No. 9 Baylor and No. 20 Oklahoma State.
The Mountaineers host Duquesne in a 7 p.m. matchup on Wednesday, Dec. 10. The contest is a $1 admission game presented by United Bank. On Saturday, Dec. 13, WVU meets IPFW for the first time in a 4 p.m. tilt at the WVU Coliseum.
