MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - For his efforts at the Mizzou Invite, West Virginia junior swimmer Andrew Marsh has been named the Big 12 Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week.
Marsh earned the award, which takes into account the prior two weeks of competition, after recording five top-5 finishes in seven outings at the Mizzou Invite from Nov. 20-22.
“Marsh had a great meet and we’re glad to see he was recognized for his events,” said coach Vic Riggs.
The Bemus Point, New York, native posted two first-place finishes, including a 47.49 100 fly and a combined 6:39.79 in the 800 free relay. He also recorded a second-place finish in the 100 back with a time of 47.05.
Marsh and the Mountaineer men’s and women’s teams will be in competition today through Saturday at the 2014 AT&T Winter National Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina, from Dec. 4-6.
