MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia men’s soccer forward Andy Bevin has been named a Senior CLASS Award Second Team All-American, the organization announced today.
“This is another great honor for Andy and as I have said many times before, there is nobody who represents this University with more class,” coach Marlon LeBlanc said. “Andy has left a legacy that will be difficult to match and we wish him well in all his future endeavors.”
A native of Napier, New Zealand, Bevin finished 2014 with the team lead in goals (13), assists (8) and points (34), earning 2014 Mid-American Conference Player of the Year honors. He finished with the conference lead in points, while ranking No. 2 in goals and No. 2 in assists.
Heading into the College Cup this weekend, Bevin is ranked No. 2 nationally in points and No. 7 in goals this season. In the WVU men’s soccer career rankings, Bevin finished No. 3 in assists (19), No. 5 in points (81) and No. 7 in goals (31).
Previously this week Bevin was invited to participate in the 2015 adidas MLS Player Combine and he earned NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region First Team honors.
Bevin is the second student-athlete in men’s soccer history to earn the honor after Eric Schoenle picked up the award in 2012.
