Bevin Earns NSCAA All-Region Honors

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Andy Bevin of the West Virginia University men’s soccer team was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s (NSCAA) All-Great Lakes Region First Team.
A native of Napier, New Zealand, Bevin finished 2014 with the team lead in goals (13), assists (8) and points (34), earning 2014 Mid-American Conference Player of the Year honors. He finished with the conference lead in points, while ranking No. 2 in goals and No. 2 in assists.
Heading into the College Cup this weekend, Bevin is ranked No. 2 nationally in points and No. 7 in goals this season.
In the WVU men’s soccer career rankings, Bevin finished No. 3 in assists (19), No. 5 in points (81) and No. 7 in goals (31).
Previously he earned NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region Second Team in 2013 and NSCAA All-Northeast Region Second Team in 2011.
Academically, Bevin was named the 2014 Capital One Academic All-America of the Year, as well as being named to the Capital One Academic All-American First Team.
WVU finished the season with an 11-7-1 record and a second-place finish in the MAC. Coach Marlon LeBlanc was named the MAC Coach of the Year, while Bevin was named the MAC Player of the Year and freshman Joey Piatczyc was named the MAC Freshman of the Year.
