Rifle Ends Fall Semester No. 1

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University rifle team ranks No. 1 in the College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Poll for the ninth straight week.
Today's rankings are based on the last score shot by each team.
Alaska-Fairbanks moves up five to No. 2 this week after a 4700-4657 win over No. 7 Nebraska on Nov. 23.
Jacksonville State remains No. 3, while Kentucky drops two, tying with Air Force for the No. 4 spot. TCU remains No. 6.
Following Nebraska, Murray State, Memphis and Ohio State complete the Top 10.
The Mountaineers (8-0, 6-0 GARC) most recently defeated two Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) foes at the WVU Rifle Range. On Nov. 22, WVU defeated No. 14 Navy, 4702-4577. The team ended fall competition undefeated with a 4714-4586 win against No. 15 NC State on Nov. 23.
The Mountaineers will return to the range and take on GARC foe Nebraska on Jan. 17.
