MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Priority season tickets for the 2015 West Virginia baseball season will go on sale on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Mountaineer Ticket Office.
Season tickets for the Mountaineers inaugural season in Monongalia County Ballpark will be available to 2014-15 Mountaineer Athletic Club (MAC) members and 2014 WVU baseball season ticket holders. Seat locations will be allocated based on MAC annual giving level and priority points rank within your giving level. Information on ticket availability for the general public will be released at a later date.
Season tickets are $154 each for reserved seating in the five sections behind home plate, and $132 each for reserved seating along the first and third base lines. WVU faculty and staff members, who are currently MAC members or were 2014 baseball season ticket holders, can purchase tickets at a discounted rate for reserved seating.
To order 2015 baseball season tickets, call 1-800-WVU GAME or stop by the Mountaineer Ticket Office in the WVU Coliseum.
“It’s going to be a great venue. Most of the games we play will be in good weather and for 22 home games at the price of what we’re charging is a great deal,” coach Randy Mazey said. “We play an exciting style of baseball and play great competition. I would love to see as many people as I can. I always tell people, don’t come just for the entertainment value, come to help us win the game. If enough people come out, that gives our guys motivation to play hard.”
The Mountaineers will host 22 home games at Monongalia County Ballpark, highlighted by four Big 12 series, including two against teams that participated in last year’s College World Series.
Big 12 home series include Oklahoma (April 17-19), Kansas (April 24-26), TCU (May 1-3) and Texas Tech (May 14-16), while non-conference home games feature Waynesburg (March 17), Charleston Southern (March 27-29), Butler (April 10-12), Penn State (April 14), Marshall (April 21) and Pitt (May 12).
West Virginia has averaged 1,232 fans per game over the last two seasons, including 19 games featuring crowds of 1,000 or more.
Coach Randy Mazey has led the Mountaineers to back-to-back winning seasons and consecutive trips to the Big 12 Tournament in the first two seasons in the Big 12, while winning conference series against Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech.
A total of 10 players have been drafted in the MLB Draft the last two seasons, and West Virginia had the 2013 Big 12 Pitcher of the Year and two All-Big 12 First Team selections in 2014.
