Arslan Named MAC Player of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Freshman Jad Arslan of the WVU men’s soccer team has been named the Mid-American Conference Men’s soccer Player of the Week for his efforts last Saturday.
Arslan netted the game-winning goal in the 86th minute at Western Michigan to give WVU a 2-1 victory. With the win, the Mountaineers extended their winning streak to five games and clinched the No. 2 seed in this weekend’s MAC Championships.
Arslan’s five goals are the most of any freshman in the conference.
West Virginia will travel this weekend for the MAC Championship at FirstEnergy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field in Akron, Ohio. The Mountaineers will play Bowling Green at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, in the semifinal match.
