MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University incoming volleyball freshman Jordan Anderson is set to participate in the Triple Crown Sports 18 Open Invitational that will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network on Friday evening.
Anderson will be playing for her club team, Texas Advantage Volleyball Club, and will take on three other top club teams in the nation – Munciana, Spiral and Tstreet.
“Triple Crown Sports is providing a great opportunity for prep volleyball in the United States and I'm excited that Jordan gets to be a part of it,” coach Jill Kramer says. “John Sample, TAV club director, does a great job of exposing his teams to quality competition and memorable experiences. This event really shows how much the sport of volleyball is growing when our 18 and under club teams are even getting television coverage.”
A two-sport athlete at Flower Mound High, Anderson has been named to the 8-5A All-District First team the past three seasons for volleyball and the past two seasons for soccer, while also recognized as the 2011 District 8-5A Goalie of the Year. In 2010 and 2011, Anderson was named Offensive Player of the Year for volleyball and garnered all-tournament team honors at the 2012 Pearland Nike Classic. In her final season at Flower Mound, Anderson recorded 622 kills, 32 service aces, 55 blocks and 420 digs.
Anderson (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound) joins Hannah Shreve (Charleston, W.Va./George Washington) and Jordan Lee (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands) in the 2013 recruiting class.
