Three WVU Grapplers Ranked Heading into Weekend

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – With a non-conference tilt set for Friday and its first Big 12 home match on the docket for Saturday, three West Virginia University wrestlers are ranked in multiple Division I wrestling polls.
Junior Nathan Pennesi (141) leads the way for the Mountaineers, as he owns rankings of No. 12 in Amateur Wrestling News’ poll, No. 14 in InterMat’s poll and No. 15 in WrestlingReport and Wrestling Insider NewsMagazine’s polls. Pennesi leads the team with 17 wins this season.
Senior Shane Young (125) is ranked No. 31 by WrestlingReport. Young holds a record of 7-2 this season.
Junior Lance Bryson (184) holds a ranking of No. 30 in WrestlingReport’s poll. Bryson is 8-7 overall this season.
WVU returns to the mats on Friday, Jan. 25, as it takes on Rutgers at 8 p.m., and on Saturday, Jan. 26, as it takes on Iowa State at 3 p.m., at the WVU Coliseum.
