Swimming: Divers Finish Day One of Zones

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.– Haily VandePoel and Richard Pokorny of the WVU diving squads finished the first day of the NCAA Zone “A” Championships in Buffalo, N.Y.
VandePoel finished 31st on the one-meter with a score of 210.95. Her six dives included a forward 2.5 somersault pike, forward 1.5 somersault one twist free, reverse 1.5 somersault pike, back 1.5 somersault pike, inward 1.5 somersault pike and a back 1.5 somersault 1.5 twist free.
Pokorny finished 31st on the three-meter with a score of 245.70. His six dives were an inward 2.5 somersault pike, forward 3.5 somersault tuck, back 2.5 somersault pike, reverse 2.5 somersault pike, forward 2.5 somersault 1 twist pike and reverse 1.5 somersault 2.5 twist free.
VandePoel and Pokorny will be back in action tomorrow with the women’s three-meter and the men’s one-meter. A full recap will be available at MSNsportsNet.com.
