Swimming: Women Receive No. 25 Ranking

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s swimming and diving team is ranked No. 25 in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) poll going into the 2012 NCAA Championships.
This is team’s first ranking since coach Vic Riggs took the helm in 2006. The Mountaineers are the lone BIG EAST team ranked in the Top 25.
A top the poll are Georgia from the SEC and Cal and Arizona from the PAC 12, respectively.
Rounding out the Top 10 are Southern Cal, Stanford, Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, Texas A&M and Texas.
The WVU women finished third overall in the BIG EAST Championships. Rachael Burnett, Kata Fodor, Mandie Nugent and Danielle Smith will represent the Mountaineers at the NCAAs.
The women’s NCAA Championships will be held March 15-17 in Auburn, Ala.
