Swimming: Burnett Takes 14th at NCAAs

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Rachael Burnett of the women’s swimming team earned honorable mention All-America honors in the 500 free this evening at the 2012 NCAA Championships in Auburn, Ala.
Burnett finished the 500 free in 14th place with a time of 4:41.23. Burnett was seeded 13th after prelims. Southern California’s Haley Anderson took first in the event in 4:34.48.
Mandie Nugent and Kata Fodor also competed in the 500 free. Nugent finished 49th (4:48.41) overall, followed by Fodor in 55th place (4:41.68).
The championships will continue tomorrow with the 200 medley relay, 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back and 800 free relay. A complete recap of the days events will be available at MSNsportsNET.com.
