Gulick Receives Academic Award

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Junior defensive specialist Liz Gulick has been named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District II Team as announced by CoSIDA on Thursday.
Gulick is the first volleyball student-athlete to receive the award since Krista Smith garnered it in 2000 and 2001.
Gulick, an elementary education major, has boasted a perfect 4.0 GPA in all her semesters at WVU. The Wheaton, Ill., native has played in 84 sets this season, including 10 starts at libero. Gulick has recorded double-digit digs in nine matches this season and had a season- and career-high 17 digs against Texas Tech on Oct. 13.
The Mountaineers continue Big 12 play on Saturday, Nov. 10 when the team welcomes the Baylor Bears to the WVU Coliseum, with match time set for 1 p.m.
