Men’s Soccer Hosts MAC Foe

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 18 West Virginia University men’s soccer team will host Buffalo in a Mid-American Conference match on Sunday, Oct. 7, at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. The match will start at 1 p.m.
The game has been designated as a “Dollar Day,” with all tickets, hot dogs, popcorn and Coca-Colas available for one dollar each.
WVU enters the match with a 6-3-2 record and a 1-0-1 mark in MAC play. Most recently, the Mountaineers allowed two goals in the final three minutes in a 3-2 loss at home last Tuesday evening.
Senior Eric Schoenle leads the team with four goals, while senior Uwem Etuk has a team-leading four assists. The Mountaineers have had 12 different goal scorers this season. In net, senior Pat Eavenson has a 0.91 goals-against average with 26 saves and 3.5 shutouts.
Buffalo has a record of 2-8-1 and most recently fell to Akron, 4-0, in its MAC opener last Saturday.
Richard Craven and Maksym Kowal lead the team with three goals apiece, while Patrick Ryan has assisted on three goals.
Goalkeeper Jonathan Viscosi has started 10 games, allowing 23 goals with 43 saves and a goals-against average of 2.25.
