Women's Soccer: WVU Climbs In Polls

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team moved up in the national rankings this week, checking in at No. 21 in Soccer America and No. 22 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll.
WVU went 2-0-0 last week, defeating BIG EAST Conference foes Seton Hall and Rutgers at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. Goalkeeper Sara Keane and defender Bry McCarthy were named the league’s goalie and defensive player of the week for their outstanding efforts.
West Virginia boasts an overall record of 8-3-0 on the season, having won six straight matches. WVU has outscored its opponents 14-2 during the win streak.
The Mountaineers return to action with a pair of BIG EAST road matches at Georgetown and Villanova. WVU battles the Hoyas on Sept. 30 before facing the Wildcats on Oct. 2.
