Women's Tennis: WVU Wraps Up First Road Trip

WILMINGTON, N.C. – On Sunday afternoon, the West Virginia women’s tennis team completed its final day of play in the UNC-Wilmington Collegiate Invitational in Wilmington, N.C.
In Flight A singles play, freshman Ikttesh Chahal fell in a hard fought match against UNC-Wilmington's Vicky Sekely, 6-3, 6-4.
Sophomore Melis Tanik defeated Olga Blank of UNC-Wilmington, 6-3, 6-3 in Flight B singles.
Tanik was the most successful Mountaineer of the weekend, as she scored three singles victories and was a part of two doubles victories.
WVU will resume its fall season play on Sept. 30 when they head to Wake Forest, N.C. to compete in the Wake Forest Invitational, which is also a three day event.
