The West Virginia University men’s basketball team spent their sixth day in Italy with more sightseeing in Rome followed by an afternoon practice.
On Sunday morning, the Mountaineers toured Rome on a bus with a tour guide, spent time at the Colosseum and visited the Roman Forum. In the afternoon, they returned to the court for basketball practice.
Monday will be the last day in Rome for the Mountaineers with more sightseeing scheduled. On Tuesday morning, WVU will depart for Venice. The Mountaineers and Illinois will spend Wednesday at Aviano Air Force Base in Venice providing entertainment to the members of the military.
The entertainment activities include a basketball clinic for children of the military, grades sixth and under, a showcase of skills from the student-athletes with a dunk show and a scrimmage opportunity between student-athletes and select military personnel. A basketball exhibition consisting of two 10-minute halves between WVU and Illinois will close out the day.
Be sure to check out WVU’s official men’s basketball Facebook page for 17 new photos from today's tour of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum.
