Track: Miller Leads at Bennie Benson

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Junior Terina Miller led the West Virginia University track and field team this afternoon with a first-place finish in the hammer throw this afternoon at the Bennie Benson Invitation in Pittsburgh.
Miller took the top spot with a BIG EAST qualifying distance of 50.60 meters, while sophomores Heather Adams and Brittany Thomas posted personal-best showings as they followed in third (41.29 meters) and fourth (40.22 meters), respectively.
In the discus, Adams and senior Brittany Fink posted conference qualifying performances, as Adams finished in third (41.22 meters) and Fink finished in fourth (40.89 meters).
WVU also saw a strong showing in the pole vault as freshman Katlyn Shelar finished in first after clearing a BIG EAST qualifying height of 3.45 meters.
The West Virginia University track and field team will continue action next weekend with a trip to the UNC Fast Times on Saturday, April 16.
