KERNS: STARKS OUT 12 WEEKS

According to West Virginia University athletic trainer Dave Kerns, senior wide receiver Bradley Starks will be sidelines 12 weeks after undergoing right shoulder surgery this morning. Starks injured his shoulder during Wednesday’s practice.
“He had surgery this morning so that they could put a screw in place,” said Kerns following Friday morning’s practice. “He fell on the ground and had full shoulder impact with the ground. He got tackled and then someone else landed on him with full body weight.”
Kerns believes Starks should be ready to go by fall camp.
“If there are no foreseeable issues with recovery, everything should go well,” he said.
Injuries have been an issue in the past with Starks, who caught 19 passes for 317 yards and four touchdowns last season as a junior. His best year came in 2009 when he caught 29 passes for 405 yards and two scores.
