MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Freshman left-hander Harrison Musgrave has been named the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week for his performance against Georgetown last Saturday, the conference office announced Monday.
A native of Bridgeport, W.Va., Musgrave tossed a complete game shutout to lead West Virginia to a 4-0 win against the Hoyas on April 9. Musgrave allowed just three hits and two walks, while striking out two. Musgrave threw 120 pitches in his second complete game of the season.
Through three weekends of play, Connecticut holds a one-game lead on first place in the BIG EAST with Louisville, Pittsburgh and West Virginia all one game behind.
The Mountaineers will be back in action this weekend with a three-game series at Notre Dame from April 15-17. Friday’s game will begin at 7 p.m., and will be televised on ESPNU. Saturday will begin at 4:05 p.m., while Sunday’s finale has a start time of 1:05 p.m.
