Men's Basketball: WVU 20th in AP Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – On the strength of a pair of wins over nationally ranked Louisville and Connecticut last week, West Virginia has made a return to the Associated press Top 25 at No. 20 this week.
This is West Virginia’s fourth appearance in the AP poll this season. The Mountaineers first cracked the AP poll at No. 21 on Jan. 17, and were 25th in the Jan. 31 and Feb. 7 polls.
The Mountaineers have received votes for most of the year in the ESPN/USA Today coaches’ poll and are just outside the top 25 at No. 26 with 64 poll points. The Big East has nine teams in this week’s AP poll and seven in the coaches’ poll.
West Virginia (20-10) returns to action this Wednesday in the Big East tournament facing the winner of Tuesday’s Providence/Marquette game
Wednesday’s game will tip off at 9 p.m. and will be televised nationally on ESPN.
