Baseball: Duo Receive All-Tournament Honors

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Pitcher Harrison Musgrave has been named to the 2011 BIG EAST/Big Ten Challenge All-Tournament Team presented by CollegeBaseball360 and earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for his pitching performance last weekend against Penn State.
Shortstop Grant Buckner was on the honorable mention all-tournament team for his batting efforts in the tournament’s three games.
Making his college debut, Musgrave tossed 6.2 shutout innings, allowing only three hits, while striking out eight in a no-decision effort against Penn State.
In his first two at-bats of the season against Iowa, Buckner hit two home runs and collected three RBIs. In the tournament finale against Illinois, Buckner scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning after drawing a walk to start the inning. He finished the game 1-for-4 with two runs scored.
West Virginia will be in action this weekend in the Hughes Brothers Challenge in Wilmington, N.C. The Mountaineers will take on Miami (Ohio) on Friday at noon, Marist on Saturday at noon and UNC Wilmington on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. WVU will then travel to Winston-Salem, N.C., to take on Wake Forest on Monday at 4 p.m.
