MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University tennis team will play host to BIG EAST rival Pitt on Wednesday, Feb. 16, in an 11 a.m., match at the Ridgeview Racquet Club.
WVU holds a regular season record of 1-5, while going 0-1 in BIG EAST action after falling to BIG EAST foe Louisville (0-7) on Jan. 23.
“We are really looking forward to competing again after a week off,” says coach Tina Samara. “We have had a fair amount of time to work hard and regroup as a team and individually.”
The Mountaineers last met the Panthers on their home courts in the spring of 2010, where WVU captured the win, 5-2.
“Playing Pitt is always a big deal for a Mountaineer and the girls have been working really hard,” adds Samara. “I think we are ready to get on the right track.”
The Panthers currently hold a record of 2-3, 0-1 in BIG EAST action.
