Men's Soccer: Bevin Earns ECAC Major Award

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Forward Andy Bevin of the West Virginia men’s soccer team was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Year as voted by the coaches in the ECAC Division I membership.
A Napier, New Zealand, native, Bevin finished his rookie campaign with a team-leading seven goals, along with two assists for 16 points. Bevin started all 20 matches at the forward position. Bevin was previously named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Year, to the all-BIG EAST third team, an NSCAA all-Northeast region member and was on the CollegeSoccerNews.com first team all-freshman squad.
West Virginia finished the 2011 season with an 11-8-1 record, 6-3-0 in BIG EAST play. The Mountaineers advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament for the second consecutive season.
