Football: Austin Named AP All-American

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Junior wide receiver Tavon Austin has been named Third Team All-Purpose Player on the AP All-American team.
The Baltimore, Md., native ranked second in the nation with an average of 191.2 all-purpose yards per game.
For the season, Austin has 89 receptions for 1,063 yards, 13 carries for 142 yards, 19 punt returns for 268 yards, 31 kick returns for 821 yards and a total of seven touchdowns.
In addition to his Third Team AP All-American honors, Austin was honored as the BIG EAST Special Teams Player of the Year, was named First Team All Purpose All-American by CBSSports.com and was selected as a Second Team All-American by Yahoo! Sports.
West Virginia will make its third BCS Bowl appearance in program history when it travels to Miami Gardens, Fla. on Wednesday, Jan. 4 to face Clemson in the 2012 Discover Orange Bowl.
