MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University basketball coach Bob Huggins has announced the signing of Eron Harris to a national letter of intent for the 2012-13 academic year.
Harris, a 6-foot-4, 175-pound shooting guard, is currently in his senior year at Lawrence North High in Indianapolis, where he plays for coach Jack Keefer. Last year as a junior, he averaged 13 points per game for the season but averaged 22 points per game the second half of the season.
Harris also averaged five rebounds and four assists while earning Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference honors. Harris helped lead Lawrence North to the Class 4A Section 10 semifinals in 2011. He is ranked as the 29th-best shooting guard by Scout.com and is a Rivals 3 star. He played AAU basketball with Indiana Elite.
“Eron comes from an outstanding high school basketball program that has produced numerous college All-Americans and NBA players for coach Keefer,” says Huggins. “Eron will come here not only with outstanding physical attributes but will be extremely well-coached.
“Eron will bring us much needed perimeter shooting, coupled with outstanding guard skills. He should be a tremendous defender with his athleticism and length.”
The November signing period continues through next Wednesday.
