Women's Basketball: Promotional Schedule Released

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s basketball promotional schedule has been released.
The Mountaineers will showcase the skills of the 2011-12 roster in a 7 p.m. exhibition game tonight against Wheeling Jesuit at the WVU Coliseum. Admission is free and open to the public.
In the season opener against Youngstown State on Nov. 11, members of the Carey’s Crew can pick up the official club T-shirt prior to the 6:30 p.m. tip in the Coliseum concourse.
The Nov. 18 contest against St. Bonaventure has been named a WVU Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day, and fans can cheer on the Mountaineers with the rally towels given out at the game.
WVU’s Nov. 20 game against North Carolina Central is Military Appreciation Day and mini flags will be given to the first 500 fans in the Coliseum. EZToUse.com will also provide wristbands for the first 500 fans.
The first 1,000 Carey’s Crew members and fans who enter the Boston game on Dec. 3 will receive a mustache modeled after head coach Mike Carey.
Kids can have their picture taken with Santa Claus prior to the Dec. 10 game against North Florida.
Fans are invited to attend Fan Appreciation Day on Dec. 28 when WVU faces Bucknell. Select concession items will be discounted.
Celebrate New Year’s Eve with the Mountaineers as they face Elon on Dec. 31. The game is the first of four Dairy Mart Dollar Days where fans can pick up a coupon good for one dollar admission to the game at any Morgantown-area Dairy Mart. Fans will also receive hats and beads to bring in the New Year.
Dairy Mart Dollar Days are also set for Jan. 7 against Villanova, Jan. 28 against Marquette, which is also alumni weekend, and Feb. 4 against Louisville.
The Feb. 18 contest with DePaul is a Play 4 Kay game, formerly known as the Pink Zone. The women’s basketball team will sport pink uniforms and fans are encouraged to “Pack the House” and wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness.
The final game on the promotional schedule is Feb. 27 against Pitt. As the final home game of the 2011-12 season, the Mountaineers will celebrate senior night as they bid farewell to lone senior Natalie Burton and also celebrate fan appreciation night to thank the fans for the support they have given all season.
