Men's Soccer: BIG EAST Tourney Field

BIG EAST CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKETMORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 12 West Virginia men’s soccer team received a No. 2 seed in the Blue Division and a first round bye in the 2011 BIG EAST Championship. The Mountaineers will face the winner of St. John’s/Georgetown on Sunday, Nov. 6, at 3:30 p.m., at Dick Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
The men’s conference tournament features a 12-team field with Marquette and USF earning No. 1 seeds. In the Blue Division, WVU is followed by Connecticut (No. 3), Notre Dame (No. 4), Providence (No. 5) and Georgetown (No. 6). Rutgers earned the No. 2 seed in the Red Division, while St. John’s (No. 3), Louisville (No. 4), Villanova (No. 5) and DePaul (No. 6) follow.
West Virginia finished the regular season 10-6-1, including a 6-3-0 mark in BIG EAST play. WVU currently has a two game winning streak and has won six of its last eight matches.
