Women's Basketball: WVPBS and MSN to Broadcast

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Mountaineer Sports Network and West Virginia Public Broadcasting will add to this season’s women’s basketball television schedule with the broadcast of five games on WSWP Beckley, WNPB Morgantown and WPBY Huntington/Charleston.
The Jan. 7 contest against Villanova is the first to air live on PBS and will be followed by the Chesapeake Energy Capital Classic against Marshall in Charleston on Jan. 17. WVPBS will also broadcast the Jan. 28 game against Marquette, the Feb. 4 game against Louisville and the Feb. 18 game against DePaul, all at the WVU Coliseum.
In addition to WVPBS, the Mountaineers’ season opener on Nov. 11 against Youngstown State has been picked up to air live on ESPN3.com. The game is slated for 6:30 p.m. at the Coliseum.
Combined with four nationally-televised games, the WVU women’s basketball team will have nine games on television, including the Jan. 21 contest at Pitt on the BIG EAST Network, WVU’s contest at Notre Dame on Feb. 12 on ESPNU and a pair of games against St. John’s and Pitt on CBS Sports Network.
The remaining 11 home games not broadcast on television will be streamed live online by MSNsportsNet.com.
WVU will open its season with a 7 p.m. exhibition game against Wheeling Jesuit on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at the WVU Coliseum.
