Women's Soccer: WVU Ranked No. 17/18

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team moved up to No. 17 in this week’s Soccer America Top 25 and checked in at No. 18 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll.
West Virginia won a pair of crucial BIG EAST road matches last weekend to remain in first place of the American Division standings, knocking off Providence, 1-0, and Connecticut, 2-1. The Mountaineers sport a 13-4-0 overall record and have earned a first round bye in the 2011 BIG EAST Women’s Soccer Championship.
The Mountaineers have won 11 of their last 12 matches, with sophomore forward Frances Silva scoring a goal in three straight matches.
The Mountaineers close out the regular season at BIG EAST rival Pitt on Friday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m.
