Mountaineer Madness

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - More than 6,000 basketball fans came out to the WVU Coliseum on Friday night to help tip off the 2011-12 basketball season. Players from both the men's and women's teams were introduced, NCAA tournament banners were raised, a slam dunk contest was held, autographs were signed and Deniz Kilicli capped off the evening by playing Country Roads on his electric guitar.

The WVU men officially begin practice on Saturday and will have its first exhibition game against Northern Kentucky at the Coliseum on Nov. 4.

The Mountaineers will open the regular season against Oral Roberts at home on Nov. 11.
