Women's Soccer: WVU Climbs In Polls

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team moved up to No. 20 in this week’s Soccer America Top 25 and checked in at No. 24 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll.
West Virginia won a pair of crucial BIG EAST home matches last weekend to remain in first place of the American Division standings, knocking off St. John’s, 3-0, and defeating Syracuse, 5-1.
Freshman forward Kate Schwindel was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week for her two-goal weekend. She has scored at least one point in five of the last seven matches and has scored 11 points in league play.
The Mountaineers, winners of nine of their last 10 matches, close out the regular season with three BIG EAST road contests, beginning with a trip to Providence on Friday, Oct. 14.
