Football: Stewart Annnounces Three Enrollees

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University Football Coach Bill Stewart has announced that three players have enrolled in school for the spring 2011 semester.
Brian Athey, QB, 6-3, 203, Eden Prairie, Minn./ Eden Prairie HS
Coached by Mike Grant at Eden Prairie High … led team to a combined record of 21-3 as a starting quarterback in 2009 and 2010 … first team all-Lake Conference in 2010 … lost in the finals in 2009 and quarterfinals in 2010 of the Minnesota Class 5A State Championship playoffs … rated No. 6 on the Rivals.com Minnesota Postseason Top 10 … completed 45-of-90 for 719 yards in 2010, with eight touchdowns and zero interceptions … was a star baseball player … grandson of former WVU assistant coach Dwight Wallace.
Josh Francis, LB, 6-2, 215, Scranton, Pa./Lackawanna CC
Coached by Mark Duda at Lackawanna College … named a 2010 NJCAA first team All-American … named a “Super Sophomore” by The Sporting News … team finished 9-2 in 2010 with a win in the Graphics Edge Bowl over No. 8 Ellsworth … finished two-year career with 95 tackles, 13 sacks, accumulating 98 yards and 19 tackles for loss … runs a 4.5 40-yard dash … also offered by Arkansas, Kansas State, North Carolina, Oregon and Rutgers.
