Football: WVU Advances in Both Polls

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia advanced in both polls released earlier today. The Mountaineers are ranked No. 22 in the latest USA Today/ESPN Coaches’ Top 25 poll and No. 23 in the most recent Associated Press Top 25.
West Virginia started the preseason ranked tied for 24th in the coaches’ poll and 25th in the media poll.
It is the fifth consecutive week West Virginia has been nationally ranked dating back to Nov. 30, 2009.
The Mountaineers travel to Marshall to take on the Thundering Herd Friday night at Joan C. Edwards Stadium in a game that will be televised nationally on ESPN. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
