Cross Country: Moving Up a Spot

Week 2 National RankingsMORGANTOWN, W. Va. – While the West Virginia University cross country team is getting rest and practice time, the national polls remained active as the Mountaineers moved up a spot to No. 16.
The poll, released by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches of America, moved WVU forward one spot as various schools throughout the country competed in their respective meets while the Mountaineers remained idle.
Villanova, Florida State, Washington, Texas Tech and Oregon remained as the top five ranked teams. BIG EAST foe Georgetown moved up a spot to No. 6, while Syracuse and Providence stayed at No. 10 and No. 14, respectively.
The team will next compete at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, Oct. 1, in South Bend, Ind.
