Women’s Soccer: Meet Amanda Anton
September 21, 2010 01:08 PM | General
Each week throughout the 2010 season, MSNsportsNET.com will get to know the six freshmen on the West Virginia women’s soccer team. Today’s edition features forward Amanda Anton.
What attracted you to play soccer at West Virginia University?
To start with, I always wanted to go to college outside the state of Michigan. On my visits to the campus, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and felt comfortable. West Virginia offers the physical therapy curriculum I would like to pursue as well.
Who has had the biggest influence on your soccer career?
My parents have always been my biggest supporters and have been there for me during the good times and bad times.
Of the teams not on your schedule, whom would you like to play most?
This year we got to play Central Michigan which hit very close to home – and I’m very happy we won – but I would like to play Michigan State. I have many family and friends who attend this university and I think it would be fun to play against their school.
How did you spend your summer?
Working out, playing soccer and hanging out with my friends and family.
Tell us why Mountaineer fans should turn out to see the women’s soccer team play this year.
We play at the top level of women’s college soccer, our games are exciting to watch and we have a beautiful and comfortable stadium. If nothing else, it’s a good excuse to get away from the books and cheer on your fellow Mountaineers.
