Evans Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – For the second time this season, senior middle blocker Lauren Evans has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference office announced today.
Evans, a Canyon Lake, Calif., native aided the Mountaineers to a 3-2 record in the last week of play, including a 3-0 win over Marshall on Sept. 14, marking the first time the Mountaineers have beaten the Herd since 2001.
At the Fullerton Classic last weekend in Fullerton, Calif., Evans was named to the all-tournament team after posting 46 kills with a .327 hitting average and 16 blocks. Evans also had one of her career-best matches against Penn when she posted 14 kills with a .591 hitting clip.
She was also named to the weekly honor roll on Aug. 30.
The Mountaineers begin BIG EAST action this weekend when they travel to Notre Dame for a 4 p.m. match on Friday, Sept 24.
