Men's Soccer: Preseason Begins

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University men’s soccer team opens preseason camp on Monday, Aug. 16.
West Virginia will start its two-a-day practices on Monday morning that will also include training, strength and conditioning workouts and individual and team meetings. These practices will lead up to two exhibitions before the official start of the season.
The Mountaineers will face Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Saturday, Aug. 21 at 1 p.m. in the first of the two exhibitions. The team will then close out the preseason with a match at home with Robert Morris on Wednesday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. Fans are encouraged to visit Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium for the free admission match.
West Virginia will open the regular season at home on Sept. 3 against No. 9 Monmouth, followed by a match on Sept. 5, also at home, against No. 17 UNC Wilmington as part of the Save Face WVU Classic presented by Jerseys Subs. The Mountaineers were picked to finish third in the 2010 BIG EAST Preseason Poll and return eight starters and 16 letterwinners from last season’s squad. Coach Marlon LeBlanc will be entering his fifth season.
