MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior Keri Bland and junior Jessica O’Connell are set to race in the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) Championships, on Saturday, July 10, at the Miramar Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar, Fla.
“It is an honor to be chosen by your country to compete in this weekend’s race,” WVU Cross Country and track coach Sean Cleary says. “Every country that is participating chooses two athletes and the stipulation is that you cannot turn 23 in the year of the competition. It is a developmental meet and many of the runners competing are future Olympians. The girls are pretty excited.”
Both are set to run in the 1,500-meter race, in which Bland will represent the United States and O’Connell will run for Canada.
Race time is set for 6:00 p.m., on Saturday. For a live Web cast or results, visit www.USATF.org.
