| Caroline Larsson |
A native of Trelleborg, Sweden, Larsson spent one year at North Florida after transferring from Old Dominion where she was on the all-Colonial Athletic Association Academic Team and a member of the Dean's List.
“Caroline is a transfer from North Florida and wants to finish out her collegiate career as a Mountaineer,” Riggs says. “She will help us tremendously in our distance events along with the 400 IM, and we are really looking forward to her coming into the program.”
At the last year's CCSA Championships, Larsson took sixth in the 400 IM, ninth in the 500 free and seventh in the 1650 free, while also being a part of the third place 800 free relay team.
“I believe WVU offers plenty of opportunities both as a student and as an athlete. The team has enormous potential with its many members and when I came and visited WVU, it felt like home,” Larsson says. “WVU athletes are highly supported by the surrounding community. I was impressed with the academic support each student is given and finishing up my degree will open up new opportunities following graduation.”
Larsson attended Bladins International School in Malmo, Sweden, where she was a Junior National qualifier. She was also ranked first in her age group in the 400 free and 800 free during the 2002 and 2005 seasons. She swam to a ninth-place finish in the 1500 free at the Swedish Nationals in 2008 and seventh in 2009.

| Lyn Ann Nelson |
Nelson, a native of Omaha, Neb., was a standout swimmer for the Ospreys and is a three- year all-CCSA team member.
“Lyn Ann is a very talented mid-distance freestyler and we're very excited about the possibilities of what she can do with our program,” Riggs notes. “She has the possibility of coming in and helping our 800 free relay qualify for NCAAs and I think she has a legitimate shot at becoming a finalist at BIG EASTs. We are happy that we can help Lyn Ann and Caroline finish off their collegiate careers on a positive note.”
The four-time CCSA Swimmer of the Week holds the CCSA 200 free record with a time of 1:47.52. She also holds UNF records in the 100 free, 200 free, 500 free, 1000 free and 1650 free.
Nelson has seen much success at the championship level with three first-place finishes and four second-place finishes at the CCSA Championships.
“I think swimming will be exciting at West Virginia for many reasons; the team is great and the BIG EAST is very competitive,” Nelson says. “WVU will offer many opportunities to excel as an athlete and as person.”
Nelson was a four-year letterwinner at Harry A. Burke High and earned All-America honors in the 200 free in 2005-06, while also finishing second in the 500 free and third in the 200 free at the state championships as a senior. She also ran track and cross country, as well as being a member of the water polo team.
