| Pat White |
Former WVU quarterback Pat White has gained weight and is altering his throwing motion, according Sun-Sentinel blogger Michael Berardino … http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_football_dolphins/2010/05/miami-dolphins-pat-white-assesses-his-progress.html
Meanwhile, Armando Salguero writes in the Miami Herald that White’s honeymoon with the Dolphins may be over … http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/05/29/1655106/improvement-or-bust-for-dolphins.html
According to Pro Football Talk, Dolphins coach Tony Sparano says White has added 18 pounds of muscle and decreased his body fat (it’s hard to believe he had any). Based on White’s listing of 190 pounds on the Dolphin web site, the added 18 pounds puts him close to 210.
Speaking of ex-Mountaineer quarterbacks, recent WVU Sports Hall of Fame inductee Marc Bulger was on Metro News Statewide Sportsline last week and he said he has had some offers from other NFL teams but is exploring his options looking for the right opportunity. The 33-year-old Bulger was released by the St. Louis Rams earlier this spring.
There are some that believe Bulger would be a great fit in Arizona, although Cardinals GM Rod Graves has denied any interest on their part … http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2010/05/yahoo-cardinals-unimpressed-with-qbs-matt-leinart-derek-anderson-and-may-pursue-marc-bulger/1

Another late first-round possibility is basketball’s Devin Ebanks, who recently had a pre-draft workout with the Minnesota Timberwolves … http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/2010-05-25-2878727404_x.htm
Ebanks’ WVU teammate Da’Sean Butler continues to rehab his injured knee and has met with NBA teams. Butler told WBOY’s Scott Grayson that he has had conversations with eight different organizations so far … http://wowktv.com/story.cfm?func=viewstory&storyid=80200
ESPN college basketball blogger Eamonn Brennan recently listed Butler as the 13th-most productive college player available for this year’s NBA draft.
The NBA draft will take place June 24 in New York City.
Thorn is close to signing a new two-year deal with the Nets, according to NBA writer Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports … http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ys-thornnets051810
The Nets have the third overall pick in this year’s draft and many believe Thorn will take either Georgia Tech’s Derrick Favors or Ohio State’s Evan Turner if he falls to No. 3.
Thorn, the NBA executive of the year in 2002, is most famous for drafting Michael Jordan while general manager of the Chicago Bulls.

After the race, the WVU coaching staff lodged an official protest. Still, West Virginia will have its most-ever qualifiers for the outdoor finals, topping the four sent in 2005 and 2003.
Keri Bland, qualified in the 1,500 after winning her individual race on Saturday, is the only athlete in school history to earn All-America honors in three different sports in the same year in cross country, indoor and outdoor track.
Clara Grandt, who won the 10K on Thursday night, can duplicate that feat next weekend.
National champion Megan Metcalfe owns the school record with nine All-America citations but Bland and Marie-Louise Asselin are hot on her heels. Bland has seven with next weekend’s outdoor race and a full indoor and outdoor season of eligibility remaining.
Asselin, with six, also has a full indoor and outdoor season left next year.
Many Mountaineer fans wished the Big East would have had high def in place for last year’s Cincinnati game.
Enjoy your holiday weekend!
