MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University women’s soccer Head Coach Nikki Izzo-Brown announced today the addition of midfielder Casey Vornadore for the 2010 season.
“Casey is a left-footed player who is strong on the ball and brings a competitive mentality to the field each time out,” says Izzo-Brown. “She has a great work ethic and the drive to be the best soccer player she can be. We are excited to have her join the team in the fall.”
Vornadore was a four-year all-conference selection at Paul VI Catholic High, earning first team WCAC honors in 2008 and 2009. The 5-foot-4 midfielder was named to the Washington Post all-region squad in 2008 and the all-metro team in 2009.
A Fairfax, Va., native, Vornadore played her club soccer most recently for the McLean Freedom, where her 2009 team was state champions and regional semifinalists. Vornadore also led Vista Fury to a 2007 state championship, was a member of ODP state teams from 2003-09 and a member of ODP regional teams in 2006 and 2009. She competed in ODP against international teams from Italy, France and Germany.
