Women's Soccer: WVU Takes On ACC Foes

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team travels to Blacksburg, Va., April 17 for a pair of contests against ACC foes Wake Forest and Virginia Tech. The Mountaineers take on the Hokies at noon and face Wake Forest at 2:30 p.m.
“We face two tough NCAA tournament teams this weekend in Virginia Tech and Wake Forest,” says coach Nikki Izzo-Brown. “With only a few weeks of soccer left this spring, this again allows us to see where we can improve as a team.”
Saturday’s contests are the sixth and seventh of the spring for West Virginia. WVU is coming off a pair of wins at home last weekend against Pitt and Akron.
WVU’s spring season concludes on April 25 with a match at Ohio State. The Mountaineers return the bulk of their roster from a year ago, losing only three starters from the 2009 team that made a 10th-consecutive NCAA tournament appearance.
