Track: Mountaineers Travel to JMU

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team will return to action this weekend with a trip to the James Madison Invitational on Saturday, April 17, in Harrisonburg, Va.
Teams from George Mason, Robert Morris, William and Mary and host JMU will be competing in this weekend’s meet.
The Mountaineers are coming off excellent showings last weekend at the Arizona State Sun Angel Classic, where seniors Keri Bland, Karly Hamric, Kaylyn Christopher and junior Jessica O’Connell all competed in the 1,500-meter race and posted BIG EAST qualifying times.
Bland led the pack, finishing in fourth place with a time of 4:19.84, while O’Connell placed eighth (4:22.29). Hamric and Christopher followed in 10th and 16th, crossing the line in 4:22.95 and 4:27.39, respectively.
