Track: WVU Throwers Qualify for BIG EAST

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Members of the West Virginia University track and field team traveled to the Robert Morris Bennie Benson Invitational in Moon Township, Pa., where two throwers qualified for the BIG EAST Championships.
Senior Brittany Fink posted a BIG EAST qualifying standard in the discus, after throwing 42.31 meters for a first-place finish. Freshman Heather Adams also threw well finishing in third place (39.49 meters), while freshman Brittany Thomas placed seventh (34.07).
Senior Terina Miller then posted a conference qualifying standard in the hammer throw with a first-place showing (45.13). The Short Creek, W.Va., native also competed well in the shot put, finishing in fifth (11.00 meters).
WVU is set to return to action on Saturday, April 17, at the James Madison Invitational.
