Track: WVU Races Well at Last Chance Meet

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior Keri Bland led the West Virginia University track and field team this evening with an NCAA automatic qualifying time in the mile run at the Columbia Last Chance Meet at the Armory in New York City.
Bland finished in first place with a time of 4:37.17, while junior Kaylyn Christopher finished in fourth with a provisional time of 4:40.78.
Two other Mountaineers posted NCAA provisional times including junior Jessica O’Connell who finished first in the 3,000-meter race with a time of 9:16.22. Senior April Rotilio then placed first in the 400-meter dash, crossing the line with a season-best time of 54.31.
Junior Chelsea Carrier also raced well finishing first in the 60-meter hurdles, posting a season and personal-best time of 8.27.
The Mountaineers return to action on March 12-13, when they traveled to NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.
