MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University community is invited to a send-off rally for the WVU men’s basketball team as the Mountaineers depart for the Final Four in Indianapolis. The send-off rally will take place at 4 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, inside the WVU Coliseum.
Fans are encouraged to join together to cheer on the Mountaineers before they depart for Indianapolis. All gates will open at 3:30 p.m. Fans cannot enter until 3:30 p.m. because of WVU’s closed practice session, but can enjoy a live remote broadcast from WVAQ starting at 3 p.m.
MSN’s Tony Caridi will kick-off the rally at 4 p.m., followed by a highlight video chronicling the Mountaineers’ run to a BIG EAST title and NCAA East Regional championship. Caridi will also introduce the 2010 West Virginia players, coaches and staff. The rally will include comments from seniors Da’Sean Butler and Wellington Smith, and coach Bob Huggins.
West Virginia last appeared in the Final Four in 1959. The Mountaineers face Duke on Saturday, April 3, at Lucas Oil Stadium. Come out and support the men’s basketball team in its quest for a national championship.
